The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore. The Ravens compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The team plays its home games at M&T Bank Stadium and is headquartered in Owings Mills.

The Ravens have been one of the more successful franchises since their inception, having qualified for the NFL playoffs 12 times since 2000, with two Super Bowl championship titles (Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII), two AFC Championship titles (2000 and 2012), 15 playoff victories, four AFC Championship game appearances (2000, 2008, 2011 and 2012), six AFC North division titles (2003, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2018, and 2019), and are currently the only team in the NFL to hold a perfect record in multiple Super Bowl appearances. Starting with a record-breaking defensive performance in their 2000 season, the Ravens have established a reputation for strong defensive play throughout team history, featuring Hall of Fame players like middle linebacker Ray Lewis and safety Ed Reed as well as Pro Bowl players like defensive end Terrell Suggs and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.

Baltimore Ravens has performed generally in recent seasons, The 2016 season was the Baltimore Ravens' 21st season in the National Football League and the ninth under head coach John Harbaugh. With a week 12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, the Ravens improved upon their 5–11 record from 2015, finishing the season 8–8. Despite the improvement, the Ravens failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second consecutive year after losing to the Steelers in Week 16. It was the first time the Ravens missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons since 2004–2005, and their first consecutive non-winning seasons since 1996–1999. They did, however, improve their position in the division, finishing in second place after finishing in third place for the previous three seasons.

The 2017 Baltimore Ravens season was the franchise's 22nd season in the National Football League and their 10th under head coach John Harbaugh. This was also the 10th season with Joe Flacco as the team's starting quarterback. The Ravens improved on the previous season's 8–8 record, but failed to qualify for the playoffs for the third consecutive season by a last second touchdown in a 31–27 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.

The Ravens drafted QB Lamar Jackson with the 32nd pick in the 2018 draft. After the team started the season with a 4–5 record, Jackson took over as the starting QB in Week 11 when Joe Flacco was sidelined with a hip injury. The team won six of its next seven games, finishing the 2018 season with a 10–6 record and winning the AFC North, giving them their first playoff appearance since 2014 and their first division title since 2012. The Ravens lost to the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card round with Jackson at quarterback, making him the youngest QB in NFL history to start a playoff game.

The 2019 season was the Baltimore Ravens' 24th in the National Football League (NFL) and their 12th under head coach John Harbaugh. This is the team's first season under general manager Eric DeCosta following the retirement of Ozzie Newsome. 2019 also marked the first year that Terrell Suggs and Joe Flacco were not on the Ravens roster since 2002 and 2007, respectively, as Suggs went to the Arizona Cardinals and Flacco was traded to the Denver Broncos. The Ravens started the 2019 season as the only NFL team with three former Heisman Trophy winners on their roster: Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram Jr., and Robert Griffin III. The Ravens were also the only NFL team to score at least 20 points in each of their games this year and the only team to score on more than half of their drives. By Week 13, the Ravens improved to 10–2 for the first time in franchise history and extended their winning streak to eight games, also a franchise record. After a win against the Buffalo Bills, the Ravens won their ninth consecutive game and improved on their 10–6 record from 2018. That win also clinched a second straight playoff berth for the team. Also, Lamar Jackson became only the second player in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards at the quarterback position, and the following week, he broke Michael Vick's all-time single-season quarterback rushing record during the game against the New York Jets.

By Week 15, the Ravens had scored more points (430) in a single season than any other Ravens team in franchise history. In Week 15, they clinched their second straight AFC North title with a 42–21 victory over the Jets.

On December 17, the NFL announced the rosters of the 2020 Pro Bowl which included 12 Ravens, the most of any team in 2019. On 15 January 2020, Orlando Brown Jr. was added to the Pro Bowl roster, which tied the 2007 Dallas Cowboys for the NFL record for most Pro Bowlers in a single season at 13. With a Week 16 win over the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens clinched the AFC #1 seed, gaining home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs, and broke 500 total points, both for the first time in franchise history. The 28–10 Week 17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers gave the Ravens their best record in franchise history, surpassing 2006. The Ravens finished the regular season with 3,296 rushing yards, the most by any team in NFL history during a season. The Ravens became the first team in NFL history to average at least 200 passing yards and 200 rushing yards per game in the same season. The Ravens outscored their opponents by 249 points, the highest point differential in the NFL in 2019. On January 3, 2020, the Associated Press released its picks for the 2019 All-Pro Team. QB Lamar Jackson, OT Ronnie Stanley, CB Marlon Humphrey, CB Marcus Peters, and K Justin Tucker were named to the first team and G Marshal Yanda was named to the second team. The five Ravens selected to the first team were the most of any NFL team.

In the playoffs, the Ravens were upset by the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional Round, 28–12, resulting in the team's second straight one and done in the playoffs. Prior to their defeat, FiveThirtyEight had the Ravens as the favorite to win the Super Bowl since before Week 12.
